I was driving the other day, listening to Nirvana and Breed came on.  I love that fuckin song.  However, when I'm alone in the car and a song comes on that I've heard well over 1,000 times I tend to fool around with the words when I sing it.  So I started singing Breed in this very deep Mark Mothersbaugh voice and robot intonation.  I immediately decided that it would be a good idea for someone to cover Breed in exactly this way.  A sort of new wave version of it, very robotic and stiff.  I had very little intention of doing this myself.  I don't sing.  I'm self conscious about laying my voice down.  However, one thing led to another and I started transposing the song onto Ableton with other peoples midi versions.  I used what instruments I wanted and drum kits and that was pretty much it.  Then just as a goof I decided to lay the vocals over to see how it sounded.  I have a small plastic pc microphone.  I use it to vid chat with friends.  It sounds like garbage.  This was only to see how it sounded.  I did the vocals in one take with zero edits.  Ableton has some nice vocal FX and after utilizing them it sounded kinda usable.  So there you have it.  I give you my version of Breed.
